Is it better to workout first then eat dinner?
Or eat, let food settle and then workout?
Also is it safe to drink coffee before a workout?

Whatever works for you, but the above outlines the 'ideal' scenario. Coffee is fine before workouts. Bad side to working out after is a higher chance that I wont make it to the gym. Actually 0% chance.0 -
Either way is fine. I usually do it about 1-2 hours after dinner so my food is all settled. I don't have the time to before dinner with the kids running around. Coffee is fine before working out, I actually read a few studies where it was mentioned to be good as a pre workout drink, so long as you remember to drink water with it and during working out, as coffee can have a dehydrating effect on the body.0

I always do my workout after dinner. If I don't, then I have a really bad tendency to eat too much simply because I've worked up such an appetite from the exercise. I do all my workouts in home tho - we have kinda a mini gym with treadmill and weight circuit machine thing. I don't know how likely I'd be to workout after dinner if I had to go out to do it!
Basically whatever works best for YOU. Everybody is different and you need to figure out what works best in your life.0 -
What ever works for you is good.
I prefer to eat after a workout otherwise I tend to get a bit of reflux.0 -
As usual i generally agree with Stolly, if you want to workout early it's probably best not to do it on an empty stomach,though... just keep that pre-exercise nutrition light - after drinking my usual water etc... i had a tsp of peanut butter and a sip of a protein shake before running about 8 KM this a.m. and that was enough for me0

I like to workout before I eat because I tend to eat less after. Thats just me though! I get too tired after I eat!! LOL0
