Alcohol tolerance?

Hi,
When I was much bigger and had a terribly unhealthy diet, no exercise, I had no stomach problems and could drink alcohol without any issues. Now that I'm actually looking after myself, I've dropped weight, eat clean and exercise regularly, I seem to suffer from occasional bouts of IBS, and excruciating stomach cramps after drinking. It doesn't always happen. I can't pinpoint the reasons for when it does and doesn't happen. I'm not big drinker anymore, and only have 3/4 drinks on an evening out once month. It's very frustrating. Has anybody else experienced this, or have any advice on what could be causing it?

Hi, I also have a kinda alcohol intolerance, it gives me insomnia! Really, really bad insomnia, whilst everyone else is passed out from drinking, not me! I'm tiptoeing about cleaning up. It's really frustrating as when I was heavier and younger I could drink with the best of them, now though, I prefer a cup of tea. I don't think my body can handle it anymore :-(0

I'm exactly the same! Before I could drink and drink and not feel too bad the next day. And now I'm tipsy after one drink and always wake up feeling terrible. I'm 22 and don't drink that much anymore because it's just not worth it for me!0

I have a similar thing. No trouble going to sleep at all, but somewhere around sillyO'clock I will wake up and be wide awake with no chance of sleeping again, no matter how tired I actually am.
Its like this pretty much whenever I drink, no matter how little.
Also, "Tolerance", what is this?! I have absolutely none now!0 -
Also if you are eating low carb your alcohol tolerance will lower. Learned this the hard way during a brief flirtation with paleo eating. :-/0

Not sure about stomach cramps and IBS, but I can definitely say that as I've lost weight my alcohol tolerance has plummeted. One drink is ok, but if I have a second drink I am very tipsy and it throws off the rest of my night, and if it's wine there's a good chance I'll have a headache and feel miserable in the morning.0
