I have suffered from a restrictive eating disorder and purging for 7 years. I have been in recovery 3 times all of which have failed and ended in relapse. I am looking for other sufferers whos story I can hear and hopefully support and other people in recovery who can offer support, tips for in recovery and understanding. Maybe even make a little community. It doesnt matter if your suffer from anorexia, bullimia, binge eating disorder or EDNOS or if you have been recovery for two seconds or 20 years. I want to hear from you all!

Feel free to add me- have been a chronic under-eater for over 20 years- until my entire body started melting down... Never even looked into calories until last November (thanks to my acupuncturist)... I thought that I was doing pretty well, because I made sure that I ate a balanced meal once a day & a few healthy snacks... Once my acupuncturist had me start carefully tracking my calories, I discovered that I was eating an average of 600 calories per day... Then I discovered that the body needs @ least 1200 calories per day to run it's basic functions- more depending on level of activity... So, I decided to start increasing my calories, accidentally went overkill due to ignorance, & felt positively aweful (took all the will-power I had not to purge due to abdominal pain & sickness) for a month... Then I found a suggestion to slowly increase daily calories by 100-200 per week- this was an awesome game-changer for me... Since November I've worked my way up to an average of 2000 calories per day, my health is improving quickly, & I can even work out & burn calories without getting sick everytime (I currently only get sick if I can't choke down enough calories to compensate for the ones I burn)...

If you privately message me, I would be happy to share things that I've learned along my journey with you... I also have a few therapeutic practices that I'd be happy to share with you to help you learn to love & appreciate your body & regain control of your mind...

I was never diagnosed because while I had a lot of disordered eating behaviors, they never got to the point of a full-fledged eating disorder (at least from my perspective, which is obviously biased). No one in my life has any idea, to this day, that I've struggled so much. I posted my story a while ago, so you may have seen it already. But if not, and if you're interested, here it is..

I used to restrict quite a bit. Then it turned into binging and purging. I have briefly tried to recover with the help of medical professionals twice. Which in a way worked because I just wanted to quit therapy so I'd go once or twice to therapy. Not really speak the entire time, and eat normally until I could convince everyone I was fine. Then revert to old ways. In the past 4 months, I've almost quit purging completely (down to about once every 2 weeks, but currently haven't for 3 weeks).

I don't exactly eat normal foods/balanced diet... I also drink a bit too much although I've cut down on that in the last 3 or so weeks too. I'm still not exactly happy. But at least I'm being a bit less destructive... for now anyway.
