Hi all! My name is Sarah. I've used MFP in the past but started fresh today with a new goal: healthy gain. I'm pregnant with Baby #3 and have a goal to gain under 30lbs (because I started at a normal BMI the recommended gain for me would be 25 to 35 lbs, so this is right on par with what's recommended and healthy). I'm 9 weeks along and have already gained 7 pounds; I'm a big-time emotional eater and haven't responded well to the death of my mother-in-law a week ago. Her funeral was Saturday, and now that it's past, I'm ready to start eating right again and trying to be kind to myself in non-food ways as I know I'll continue to struggle. She was a neat lady, and it's hard to both miss her and know how to comfort my husband and kids who are really down now too. But I know I can do it without emotional eating if I have a lot of support from people here.

I gained WAY too much with my first two pregnancies and want this to be my best yet, in spite of my tendency to eat emotionally. I'm going to log daily and work out 6x a week (walking 3 days for cardio, prenatal barre and pilates DVDs 3 days for strength, and one full rest day) so that I can gain healthy this time around and then lose healthy after and keep fighting my emotional eating habits. I would love any other pregnant moms trying to stay healthy to add me so we can motivate each other. <3

    Congrats!!
  • Ooh I will! My next step after posting here was to start searching groups. Thanks amgreenwell!
  • Also: I just set a goal for myself to complete one round of Beachbody Brazil Butt Lift over the next six weeks (spreading it out so that I work out like 45 minutes a day instead of the 90ish I'd do some days if I stuck with the standard 4-week calendar). While I eat crap I'm actually quite fit and think this will be a great little program to bang out before my size forces me to start up prenatal DVDs (which I started and think will be AWESOME down the line but feel a bit easy now that I'm still fairly small and mobile haha). Anyway. Anyone else doing BBL, I'd also love you to add me. Pretty much, anyone encouraging who logs daily and wants to be motivated back, add me! :)
