@XcelenaX . Congratulations for your resolution. I am positive you will be succesful.
Please start with @diannethegeek links above. They have very good information.
Buy yourself a food scale, weigh everything you eat and log at MFP.
If you at a deficit (calories burned higher than calories ingested) you will lose weight
Good luck in your healthy journey

"Diets" are sometimes good for jumpstarting your weightloss, but it's never intended as a long term solution. Glad you're making some positive life changes!!

You don't have to 'jumpstart' anything, but there are people that switching to a pre-structured eating plan helps them adjust to smaller portions of food. Problem is, so many of those people don't also take the time to learn how to do it for themselves.

OP: I'm glad you're recognizing what you need to do for yourself to change your eating habits. It's a much slower process, but one that will give you the tools and knowledge to keep the weight off once you lose it. Good luck! ^_^

Hey! AWESOME! I think I just replied to your other thread.

I eat nutrient dense foods as well as treats. Remember depriving can lead to binges. I've lost over 80lbs not cutting my treats, but rather sticking to proper portions.
    And, I love chocolate. ;)

No necessary. Just eat less than you burn in the day (less than TDEE).
