How to determine calorie goal?

Hello!

I'm new and trying to figure out my ideal daily calorie target.

My BMR (according to calculator.net) is 1504.

I need to lose 25 pounds, so if I set my settings to "lose 1lb. a week" it gives me 1456 calories.

I've been shooting for this target for the past 3 days and overate by between 300-700 calories each day and still lost 1.5 lbs.

Any suggestions on how to come up with a good target for myself?
