Okay, I haven't been wearing my fitbit due to (SMH) I took it off when I showered and left it at my parents. They are however bringing it back to me today. THANK GOODNESS. My question is....what do I follow. I have my MFP set as sedentary as I sit at a desk from 8-5. However I go to the gym on my lunch break for 30 minutes. Also I try to hit the gym 3 days a week after work. Do I eat the calories that fitbit adds to mfp? I have searched other discussions but seem to be a bit confused.... I have my Calories set to eat 1460 a day. I also when I do enter exercise I will divide what MFP suggests in 1/2. but when I get my fitbit back i do not have to enter anything in correct? sorry if i sound a bit dense, i am just confused.

Thanks for any and all help.!

From the separate websites I have read you should track food in MFP and excersize in fitbit.

That's just what I read. Of course I'm assuming that you have fitbit and MFP connected.

Yes I do have them synced. Thank you. I keep reading stuff and you know you get a little bit of this and that and you aren't sure which one to do :)

Not dense at all! I found it really tricky to begin with. I'm so happy you're getting it back soon. I know I'd be lost without mine, so I can imagine your excitement!

Basically, just like what the other poster said. Always log food on MFP, it will automatically be pushed to Fitbit. I think the Fitbit help forum also said to log exercises on MFP only and then Fitbit would also sync to it, but I find that to be weird. So I just let my Fitbit track my exercises and push them over to MFP. It calculates calories added back by way of steps, I believe. It's usually pretty off from my Charge HR calorie reading from the exercise (for instance, I'll walk 45 minutes on the treadmill at an incline and brisk pace to get my heart up, so I'll get something like 350 calories burned, yet MFP will show the calories for the steps as maybe 200-250. I also lift, and I don't think I've ever noticed MFP take those calories into account. But I'd rather the calorie count be low than high. I don't log actual exercises on here because it double counts the steps and the exercise, and it'll push it to my Fitbit, meaning there will be a double count there as well.

In short, to answer your question, you do not really have to enter anything as far as exercises, but do enter your food here. It doesn't work if you do that part the other way around!
