Just joined and looking for support

Hello all,
I just joined this site. It looks like it will be helpful. I have been dieting for around 4 months and in that time I have lost 2 stone but I would like to loose a lot more. I try to get to the gym around 3 times a week and I spend one day a week with my 2 year old nephew so I consider that a workout day too.
The biggest problem I have in trying to loose weight is the lack of support and help I'm getting from my family. I live with my mum and brother and although my mum is trying to loose weight too, she's not trying hard enough. And my brother, even though he needs to loose weight more than any of us, doesn't even want to try. He eats fast food and takeaways on a daily basis and my mum actually encourages him to do so. It's bad enough that he is constantly eating all that stuff in front of me (I always say, "would you drink a bottle of vodka in front of an alcoholic?" It's the same thing!), but he always gets too much of it and encourages me to eat it. I swear sometimes it's like he is deliberately trying to sabotage me! My mum tells me, I just have to learn to say no. It's that easy is it? I told her I don't want that stuff in the house. The easiest way to overcome this addiction is to remove temptation completely and yet she continues to bring in junk food for my brother and hand him money for takeaways.
I'm at my wits end with this, please, does anyone have any reasonable solution for this problem?

Feel free to add me to your support group - I have not been doing this long, but it does seem to help and I have lost 4 lbs. in about 6 weeks.0

I'm afraid I do not have a solution, but I am in a similar boat. My other half is a food fiend and it's hard to stay focused when he wants to eat all the time. It drives me insane at times since I have awful will power anyway.
You have done a great job so far by loosing the weight you already have, so you are obviously doing something right. I'd say just to stick to your guns, you know what you are doing is for you. Positive outlook and stay focused. You can do it!
If you want a friend who is just starting out on here too feel free to add me0 -
Congratulations on your weight loss... 28 pounds is a great start.
I know how you feel. I wish that we didn't have all the junk food and treats in the house. Unfortunately, I do not have a choice. Three other people live here and I am the only one trying to lose weight. The worst part is cooking for my family and then having to make something else for me. But it is getting easier to resist the temptations. Just try to stay focused, I know it's hard but you can do it. You have already proven to yourself that you can by losing the weight that you have.0
