Frustrated by scale.

I think I am on day 23 (or somewhere about) and am proud to say this is the most consistent for the longest time span that I've been for a long time. I have been doing everything by the books-write everthing down, stay under my calorie limits, decreased carbs, exercised 5-6x a week (both aerobic and strength) back and forth between biking/walking/running, not eating my exercise calories, and drinking all that freaking water. I burn between 100-200 calories with my workouts so nothing extreme.
And I've lost a total of 6 pounds. I've not lost any for a week.
I know this is supposed to happen slow. I know there are NSV and I am proud of those. But I'm pretty sure my doctor wants me to LOSE WEIGHT. They want me to decrease my horrendous BMI. And while I'm sure they would like the NSV's-I am really not making much movement where they want to see it...pounds.
So frustrated. Thoughts?

In my first 6 weeks, I barely lost anything, and nearly gave up. I started at 242lbs. I think the first 6 weeks i was putting on muscle, as soon the numbers started moving a lot quicker, and I have now lost 20lbs in 4 months.
I lost lots of inches in that time though, and that is what kept me going.
PLEASE dont give up - I'm so glad I didnt! It WILL happen!0 -
Awww I am right there with you. I have been working my butt off and i lose an ounce... I am on the verge of tears and indulging in a giant piece of chocolate cake...
Keep up the good work, and dont look so much at the scale..0 -
What I hate is when I'm consistently following the program but my body suddenly decides to put on 4 lb, and keep it on for 2 weeks. Then I have to lose it all over again. Ah well, I just tell myself to stick to the program, in the long term in DOES work, you just can't be short sighted. And I remind myself that this isn't temporary, it's the way I live now, forever.0

I can feel your pain. It took the scale five WEEKS to give up a bountiful 1.6# for me this morning. Five weeks of eating planned meals every 3 hours. Five weeks of exercising. Five weeks of doing it right and all I got was a measely 1.6#?
Don't let it get you down. Try to focus on what you're doing right. If you are 100% honestly doing your routine the way you intended, the scale will move in your favor eventually.
If perhaps you haven't been as strict as you thought you'd have liked to have been, then make those little adjustments to get full swing into things.
Our bodies can do weird things, especially when poor diet gets in the mix. I read on here a wonderful article about being obese on 700 calories a day. You'd think for sure, at 700 calories a day, a person should be losing weight. The article went on to describe what seems to be the majority of folks posting here on MFP, where the diet is followed for a period of time and then binge eating or even allowed cheats come into the mix, confusing the body, throwing it into storage mode after it's been surviving off too few calories for too long. It may or may not apply to you, but it could give you some perspective as to what's going on in your body, so I'll share the link:

Good luck! I know it sucks :flowerforyou:0
