Counting steps

Hello,
I am just starting and had a question about the counting steps that are in my iPhone and turned on for MFP. I just did 32 min of walking/running in my treadmill. MFP also counted my steps. I don't think both should be counted for the same exercise entry but I want my steps counted the rest of the day so I don't want to turn it off. Any advice is appreciated!
Thank you,
Maggie

Same problem here. I leave it turned on in the iPhone and for treadmill or elliptical sessions just set it on the console and not on your person.0

I had it on the console and when I went to add today's treadmill session in my steps were still recorded along with what I added! I ended up turning it off for now. Maybe it's good to turn it on for days when I don't tread... Thanks:o)0
