Hi there
Ive got the incentive, Im not lazy, Im trying but not much weight is moving. I want to stay positive so I think some 'community' would be good right now. Maybe things are slow because Im 46 now, not 26 & Im happy to loose only .5kg a week but even thats not happening.

How accurate is calorie counting? Do you use a food scale? Do you select the right food from the database? How do you get your calorie burns? MFp, HRM or reading from machines?

Are you exercising? Could you be increasing muscle density?

Hmmmm. How mush water are you consuming? If you're not drinking enough that can effect wieght loss. Are you eating regularly? If not your body may be in starvation mode holding on to everythingyou consume.

queenliz - Ive been thinking Maybe I need to tighten up my process; I just estimate in food amount usually in cups/1/2 cups etc, dont have scales. Im pretty accurate I think w food selection off data base. When I walk I map calorie burn w 'Map my fitness' app. When I do HIIT sessions I use 'My fitness Pal' calorie burn data. The calories given me to eat each day w a .5kg loss per week is about 14500cal day.

Also I try to meet the set calorie requirements 4-5 days a week. Sometimes just a little over (100 cal or less). When I started I was even more relaxed about it then that because at first I was curious to see how I was doing naturally without counting anything. For the last month Ive been trying more

Losing 0.5 kg a week would be ideal but count more on like 0.150 for many reasons, age, intensity, food intake, and consistency.

I tell many people this because I truly believe it: fitness is a lifestyle not a 3 month program.

When you figure that out, any loss or gain should be welcomed.

I'm sure you rather lose weight or maybe just tone up. Either way, the intensity of your workouts matters i.e. Heart rate zones, length of time spent on major zones, how you fuel up following your workouts, and so on.

There's a lot of #'s that go into fitness that likely turns people off, but!!!! When done this way, it has way more meaning and your results are very evident because the numbers don't lie.

    Cheers and keep at it

I've had the same problem, logging my food, exercised and the scale is moving at a snails pace. While I have ate less than my husband and worked out just as much he has dropped 26#'s I have lost 10#'s (Over 90 Days). I'm 54 and the 10#s I have lost are the 10# that I put on since menopause hit over the past year...It's so hard to lose weight!!! I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to give up.

Yes it certainly is more difficult as I get older but surely if we keep at & make small incremental changes consistently things have got to budge!

Though I'm 26 but facing the same problem. I think I need a trainer. I was hoping to loose 1 kg a week. Lol

I've switched up my thinking now to be "slow weight loss is not only good, it's better".

slow loss is fine, thats how I did it and I kept it off easily too

As others have said, you are likely eating more than you think, measuring in cups is less than ideal, its better to use food scales.

All the best for your weight loss

Can any one recommend some food scales that they like using for ease & accuracy?

Mine are cheap ones I got online at Argos, think they are Salter digital food scales - they were around £12.00. They'll be the best money spent  Any brand will do though.
