Welcome!! MFP is a super supportive place.
  • Being overweight has been an ongoing struggle of mine for many years. On New Years Eve I sat at home with my husband, depressed and upset over reading my online test results. All I can contribute to my being obese, lack of exercise and a healthy lifestyle. So I vowed to change that and make it a life change. Not no fads, or drinks, or quick ways to lose weight fast. So as of this past Friday I am down 20lb from the start of the new year. Losing it slowly is what my doctor said was best for me. I even surprised my family on my bday by ordering an elliptical machine which will be arriving soon. I've been a self conscious person and have had a lot of social anxiety so it's been hard going to a gym, so by having a machine at home, there's no excuse for not wanting to workout out as now I can do it in my own home. A few years back I was so close to being at a healthy weight and didn't stick with it. I lost it too quickly, and wasn't eating healthy and was under so much stress.
One thing that's helped me a lot lately is having my phone handy to keep track of what I eat with myfitnesspal since sometimes I tend to overeat or not eat enough.

Wow! That's truly inspiration. I also tend to under eat amd then inevitably over eat. It sucks because I keep being disappointed with myself for going in circles. But i think this app and community is a step on the right direction. It's a chance for me to get some pratical advice and become: an ex-fatty :D
