I started at 295. I am down to 268.
I have only been eating about 1250 calories a day.
I have lost 27 lbs in 25 days.
The first week I lost a lot and have averaged a half a pound per day after the first week. (3.5 lbs a week)0 -

Look, weight loss is great. Rapid weight loss? Not so much. The powers that be likely don't want to be promoting such rapid loss as the norm, because it isn't generally attainable (men lose faster than women) and because it's unhealthy and not sustainable.
If the only two things you have in your weight loss arsenal are how to be fat and how to crash diet, how valuable are your skills to others, really? And yet others will look at your numbers and your (very short term) results, and think that they should follow suit and should expect your results. Neither is true.

Slow & steady weight loss helps you make real changes to your lifestyle.
I've done crash diets in the past....all they prove to me is I know how to lose weight. But losing the weight is just the first step. THIS TIME, I'm losing weight the right way. So I can learn new habits to keep the weight off.
WKelly - fast weight loss (unless you are currently obese) does not help your body support existing lean muscle mass. You end up losing fat+muscle when you eat very low calorie. Healthy weight loss lowers your body fat %.
Pound per week goals
75+ lbs set to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs set to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs set to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs set to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs set to lose 0.5 lbs range

Thank you looks like i was expecting to much from what i need to loose about 25 lbs so i shouldnt expect to lose more than .5 or 1 lb per week that helps alot to where maybe only weigh once a week also0

On this site, people are into healthy, sustainable weight loss. If you start following the discussions on the boards, you will quickly pick up alot of information about successful weight loss. This is a long term deal--no quick fix. So many have been successful and share their knowledge--for free. Follow the posters with alot of posts, normally they've been around the longest and know more. Don't give up, just start to follow the guidelines given by MFP. You'll do fine.0

What thread? The 1,000 calorie per day thread? Not sure why that thread vanished, but when it was still here there was a message from a moderator explaining that it was being locked due to violating the no promotion of Very Low Calorie Diet guidelines. See # 3 here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/guidelines0
