Eating too much?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I've only been using MFP for a few weeks so I'm still getting used to it. I have around 40lb to lose. The only exercise I do is walking, I try and do 10,000 steps per day and my Fitbit sends the stats over to MFP.

I've attached a screenshot of some typical days of mine from the past week. I eat a lot of my exercise calories back but I feel like I'm eating too much and I haven't actually lost any weight since starting two weeks ago so not sure if I'm doing something wrong or eating too much or what

    Are you weighing your food to enter it? That's the first suggestion most people here would have because that tends to be the mistake most people make when they first start.

    Your exercise calories could be off too. I NEVER lose if I eat them all back...i usually eat back 20% because of how notoriously awful MFP is, and because then I give myself a buffer zone.

    Also, if you don't have your activity level set to "sedentary" then you shouldn't eat back your steps at all. I wouldn't do that anyway, honestly, unless you're a very active hiker.

    If you've only been at it a few weeks, I would suggest waiting a bit longer. If you are truly weighing solid foods and measuring liquids, then based on your screenshot you should be losing weight. Give it another week or so, and make sure you drink plenty of water (in case you are just retaining water). Good luck!

    Could you open your diary? People might be able to spot an inaccurate entry somewhere.

    What are your stats?
    What weight loss goal did you pick?
    How much weight have you lost?
    When did you start?
    And just to clarify, you use a food scale for solid foods and measuring cups only for liquids?

    What percentage of your exercises calories do you eat back? I'd recommend only eating back up to 50% of them to account for any inaccuracies. Can you open your diary so that we can have a look at it?

    Many MFP users say the calorie burn estimates for most activities are higher than reality. You might try eating back only half of your exercise calories. Also, two weeks isn't very long. Weight loss doesn't always happen instantly, even if you are doing everything right, so give it some more time before expecting results.

    Many people complain that the fitbit activity logs on the high side. Others will tell you that the first few weeks on any dietary change can take a couple of weeks for the body to adjust.

    How about this: try cutting back 200 calories per day for two weeks and see if that helps. If you're still not losing, cut out another 200 for 2 more weeks, and so on. Eventually you'll get a sense of what it takes for you to get the results you want
