    A smile and annoyance

Smile - my daughter tested into the advanced placement in every subject for middle school including the enrichment program - something rarely done in our school district.

Annoyance - Public schools - no child gets ahead. We are pulling her out to go to a private school where she can achieve what we know she is capable of and where her siblings went. She is brighter than her sister and we have seen what her sister has accomplished.

^^agree with you on the public schools. For some reason I thought a DOD school would benefit my daughter and have programs for kids who move around a lot or at least special support but nope.

And watching birds build a nest made me smile. :)

@Iscah13 we sent our kids to a "Friends" Quaker school. Best decision. One went onto a top prep school and is now in college and another is thriving at an all boys parochial college prep school. We pay a lot in taxes not to send our kids to the public schools. No child left behind? No child gets ahead!

I helped a customer at work today, and afterwards he leaned over and did the quick cheek press/kiss on the cheek thing, like we were old friends. Totally non-sexual, casual, impulsive move. I chuckled to myself for the next ten minutes.
