When I got divorced several years ago, I got motivated to get fit. I joined MFP, I ate well, I started running, I regular ran 10ks, and I looked great! I was 34 and people regularly thought I was in my late 20s at most.
But last year I went through a really stressful time followed by a surgery and now I am not only overweight, but I'm finding it really difficult to do some of the activities I used to love. My body feels stiff and really heavy. Now I'm also close to 40.
I'm really worried that getting fit again will take much, much longer and I won't really be able to get back to the same level. I'm still single, and I live in a large urban area where lots of people really push themselves to athlete levels of fitness. I've been going to the gym and running in the park, but I'm ashamed.

It is NOT harder to get back in shape the 2nd time around. You got this. And for goodness sake, be proud of yourself for getting out there and exercising!

Thanks guys, for the encouragement. I know I'm being silly and sorry for myself. Feels good to hear it back at me.
I gotta not look at what other people are doing and only worry about myself.
Thanks for reminding me that it's a bunch of dross about older women. I can get fit again. No problem!
