Struggling with motivation and guilt. Anybody else?

I managed to lose about 15 lbs last year and kept it off for the most part, but I have not been able to lose the last bit. I struggle with keeping on track and often find myself in a bit of a junk food binge and feeling terribly guilty afterwards. I feel like I have been dieting for an eternity and perhaps that is why I get into these mini binges although I am not entirely sure. I have just noticed my weight begin to creep up and am wondering if anybody else has been there or has any tips on getting back and staying on track. I am feeling awful about it, but am struggling to get back to my healthy eating patterns.

Is going through rough patches a just normal part of losing and maintaining weight loss? I do not have anybody in my life who has had to lose weight, so I have't been able to ask or talk to anybody about it.

Going through "rough patches" or periods of no motivation is very common, especially when you're down to those last few lbs. It takes so long to see progress because there's so little left to lose, it is so easy to feel like "what's the point". I myself hit a patch of a couple weeks where I'd start the week strong and then just say "f it" by Thursday or Friday. Lol. I'm completely refocused, though. I really have no weight left to lose. I'm just trying to recomp a bit...which is even more tedious than fat loss itself. Thank goodness for this site and like-minded people who can cheer us along and remind us what we're sacrificing all our food/drink fun for. Keep with it, and you will get there. AND...it'll so be worth it!

Yeah, everyone goes through those rough patches. If you're struggling, set your calories to maintenance and stick there for a month or two. Gives you time to readjust and not stress out over it. ^_^

Thank you both! I found myself finishing off a batch of cookies that I had made a few days before for breakfast today oops! It is a little discouraging to see your body start to change and feel like your hard work is going out the window but that was the last of the junk in the house anyways and I am now feeling ready to start fresh with loads of veggies at my next meal :)
