In advance...Sorry for the venting
I know I have absolutly NO reason for this but here I am day 3 and I'm just frustrated....the first day doing this I honestly felt bad...and I wen't over on my calories!!! the second day was a little better but I couldn't even get all my calories in!! Seriously? I mean on top of feeling shaky then not wanting to eat...not a fun day at all..
I'm not giving up, I'm just wondering how long it took for some of you out there to get the hang of this and to make it work for you?
Just a little background for you..I looove bake and I am currently stopping myself from making some very wanted chocolate cookies....
I want to be committed to this and I want to keep going...I am just struggling with frustration and some impatients

I eat smaller portions every 2-3 hours so I'm not tempted to eat a big meal and go overboard. Don't give up......you'll get the hang of it.0

Do you think you are starving yourself? If so you might have to adjust the daily meal plan a little bit by finding foods that fill you up and give energy at the same time. I find protein very helpful for me and keep long shot of energy. Dieting never works and even less when you hate it.
Good luck!0 -
Day THREE??? Girl, you are being too hard on yourself! It will take time to get used to your new lifestyle. If you went over your calories, don't sweat it... just do better tomorrow!
Add me if you like for mutual support and motivation!0 -

i'm still trying to get the hang of this too..i like to bake as well and also tend to crave sweets as well..especially after a bad day or when its that time of the month..so far what has helped for me is if i am craving something i will give in to something like a cookie but then make sure that i have made healthier choices throughout the day and put in a good workout..if ur looking for friends and more support feel free to add me0

It took me about a week to get used to it.
BUT, GOOD NEWS: Once you really involve yourself in the site, you start doing much better! I now find myself on MFP more than I am on Facebook. Not only that but when I do not log in the site, I end up cheating and doing things that make me fatter0 -
Perhaps you could make up a "sample day" - either things that you would normally eat, or things that you think you "should" eat. Input it, and then start tweaking it... look at things that may be higher calorie (and/or carb) and see if you can figure out a reasonable, healthier and more filling alternative.0

Don't worry, honey! I didn't join MFP until 3 months into my journey... I'd started by just cutting portions and then I started logging using Self.com's log and noticed I was averaging 1200-1300 calories per day so I was already doing pretty well with eating about the same everyday... then I got here and MFP said my limit was 1200. It was perfect! So it worked out fine for me... I was already a few months into controlling my habits...but I will tell you this: I just started seriously logging again the last couple days and it's hard after you've been eating whatever you want! Hang in there.0

http://www.skinnytaste.com/ great low cal/ low fat recipes. I made brownies off this site the other day only I didn't use the chocolate chip so my version came out to be 91 cals and .5g fat. My kids even loved them. Don't be hard on yourself, it takes time to learn anything new including eating healthy. Good Luck!0

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT!! it really means the world!
it's so great to know there are people who have been there and are there to help me out of this kind of funk!0 -
What diet are you doing?
Laugh, that was my question too...if you are in a rush to drop weight, or think of this as a temporary thing until you get down to where you want (and then everything will be alright...), you may end up frustrated. For me, frustration increases my hunger!!! Laugh!
Give it a week and do your best...I look forward to hearing about the results at that point!!0 -
I eat more meals throughout the day, just make them smaller, so that I'm constantly grazing. I also adjusted my calorie intake a bit higher than MFP gave me, because I found that going that low just didn't work for me. But it took me a few weeks of adjusting to get it right. It's a process, so take your time, and experiment! There's no rush.0
