    Just get out there and enjoy it! If you have been running for a while or have done this distance before don't even sweat it... just go have fun.

    Agreed, the saying is "For every marathon, a toenail".

    However in reality if you are losing toenails from running, then either you are wearing the wrong sized shoes or poorly designed shoes.

    marathon maybe...but not a 5k...I did 5ks 3 days a week from May until Sept of last year...never lost one.

    So true. Literally the only time I lost a toenail was because my shoes were about a size too small. Rookie mistake/lesson learned!


    To OP: Nothing new on race day! Wear clothes you know fit well, eat foods you know sit well, etc. And have fun!!

    JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!

    I picked someone a head of me to focus on and ended up beating my best time.
