Net carbs?

So how do you actually calculate net carbs.
Let's say the total carb content is 20 and in the nutritional break down it says 7 fiber and 13 sugars. Does that mean that the net carb content is 20-7= 13.
Just want to know if I'm counting carbs correctly. Thank for any help.

Yes 20 carbs, minus 7 fiber equals 13 net carbs. My mom is diabetic and this is how she figures her carbs.0

You can also subtract the carbs from stevia, truvia and maybe a few others. Some of these sweeteners will spike insulin though, and so it's not so clear cut how to calc them into net carbs. I don't log Truvia and stevia as I've read an analysis of these sweeteners are one of the lowest, and I keep my servings limited. But on the other hand if you consume a lot it could easily still spike insulin .0

Yes - although you should only really subtract insoluble fiber (if you can figure it out)0
