How much water weight will I lose before I lose "actual" weight?

I know it's very specific to the person, but I just jumped on the scales today after a week of rigours exercise + calorie restriction and it says I'm about 4 kilos lighter which I'm finding a bit hard to believe? Thanks guys :)

I assume you lose water weight and actual weight at the same time.

Say your losing 1pound of fat a week. In the first week you lose for example 4lb it's not all water weight, just most of it. Then in the 2nd week you lose 2 then 3rd week to lose 1.

But the whole time you were losing actual weight along with the water weight.

Is this not how it works?

I lost about 15-18lbs from water weight before losing actual pounds.

I didn't lose any at first. My weight loss has held steady the whole time. I gain and lose about a pound of water every week, messes with my trend but nothing terrible.

This is my understanding of it, as well.
