Birthday on Friday, scared to have fun

My birthday is on Friday (the big 22, haha). I have plans to go out to dinner with friends and then get some drinks. I'm so scared to overindulge because I've done so well for almost two weeks. I hardly ever drink alcohol, but I feel like I deserve some fun.

You are adjusting to a new lifestyle. Part of life is indulging, having fun! Enjoy your birthday and get back on track the next day! One high calorie day won't ruin anything. It took many many days of high calories to get the way you are now, not one.0

Go have fun!!!!!!!! Its okay to let loose for one day!!! You'll get back on track! Drink lots of water if you're going to be having a lot of sugar/salt stuff!!!0

I agree! Have some fun! We all deserve a little break now and then. If we don't let ourselves induldge every once in a while, we will end up OVER-induldging later. Have a great birthday, eat and drink what you want, but know when to stop (i.e. don't eat until you feel overstuffed). Then, get back on track the next day! Happy early Birthday!!0

read the title.... you are scared to have fun? You will never make this a new lifestyle if you don't have confidence in yourself. One day of overindulgence is not the end of the world (I do it more often than I should!) celebrating your birthday is not quiting on yourself. Go! have lots of fun, have a huge dessert, then start fresh when your hangover is gone.... and take lots of pictures so you can compare how awesome you will look at your next birthday!0

stay away from the sugary sweet drinks and mixed drinks with soda. Stick with wine, light beer or liquor mixed with water (or straight). Have a good healthy meal, steak, fish or what ever with a good salad. You might go over you will be fine. Party and get back on track the next day.0

Have fun! If you want a few drinks, have a few drinks. It really is that easy. You're not going to live the rest of your life without a drink are you? Lifestyle change, not diet is the key to success here. Don't deny yourself anything you enjoy...just know what's in it and make the conscious decision to have it. Remember it takes, 3500 calories (OVER your maintenance cals) to gain one pound. Chances are you won't be downing 5000+ calories on your birthday?!0

have fun!! if you're really worried about the calories and going off track,
-drink LOTS of water - dehydration can inhibit weight loss.
-try to eat lightly, lots of veggies and low-cal foods throughout the day
-try lower calorie drinks (mix with diet pop etc)
-if you drink a lot, have a healthy snack when you get home to avoid those drunken munchies! and have a decent breakfast planned because the hangover munchies are just as bad

You can enjoy your birthday, without going supercrazy. There will always be reasons to go out, dine and party...so begin your night with this in mind...life is always an event...make the most of it...and remember how good that feeling is when the scale smiles upon you!0
