I'm 5'7" and have an under active thyroid, mfp has put my calories at 1600, should I go lower due to my thyroid? I weigh 18 stone.

Is your thyroid condition under control/do you take medication?0

Try MFP's suggestion of 1600 for a month. Log every bite that goes in your mouth. Use a digital food scale and just be honest.
Eat a little more if you exercise hard for an hour that day. (Like two or three hundred more, max; not a thousand more.)
At the end of the month, see where you are in weight. No one here can help you any more than that, you need good data in order to see what's going to work. MFP uses general guidelines. You may or may not fall within the numbers. Only way to know is to try it, and it takes weeks - not days - to get a baseline.0 -
Hi, yes I take medication, that's great advice thanks, I'll stick with that and see how I go0
