I have never been a runner but I have been running with my wii fit and I noticed yesterday after 20 minutes I was really itchy in my torso, butt and "muffin top". Is this normal?

My thighs get horribly itchy also.0

It's normal. It's probably just irritation from places that you're sweating, or sweat build up.0

my dr told me its from sweating and your blood getting pumped0

I have been itchy as well but on my chest and legs and my arms. I just thought it was the toxins sweating out through my pores. Which I'm seeing it possibly could be. I've been using Aveeno's itch control lotion with menthol. It works great!!!!!!0

totally normal if you just started out/just started back. doesn't matter what shape you're in! i looked it up a long time ago, can't remember the reason now, but it will go away! mine usually goes away in a couple runs when i take a long break and start back. i'm sure somebody here knows more than i do and can give you a real answer!0

agreed!0 -
Its the circulation of the blood through your veins...
When you exercise you fill your blood full of lots of oxygen which helps with circulation.. when you blood is moving faster it will cause you to itch.
I HATE it! but it means that my work out is working!0 -
The same thing happens to me.. a lot of the times it makes me so uncomfortable i dread working out at all..0

My legs get itchy after I start my blood starts pumping...it's INTENSE. Actually intense is an understatement--we're talking death by itchiness. When I was a newlywed I went jogging on a trail with my hubby and I literally had to stop, stick my hands down my pants and scratch like crazy. lol It was so embarrassing. When we got to our truck I peeled my pants off and just about tore my skin off. Hmmm, I wonder why he never went jogging with me again? Yes, honey, you married a freak of nature. Ha!
Seriously, though. Is there a way to prevent this? Benadryl, something? Definitely trying that itch control lotion!0 -
Yes, it's normal when you are starting out and is related to the sudden increase in blood moving through the capillaries under the skin. Sweating and close-fitting workout clothes can also be a factor). I'm not sure there's any way to stop it, but once you've been at it awhile, it goes away.0

that happens to me when I run or am on a bumpy bike ride..... maybe it is the circulation that would make sense. i dont sweat though so I also thought maybe it is where I should be sweating lol idk but would like to know!0
