Am defiantly down in the dumps today! I tried to eat right but I think I failed a little bit by getting orange sherbet. I only had a little but I had Olive Garden before that and tried to only eat half my plate and more salad. And am in SOOO much pain from working out yesterday doing that stupid boot camp class. Anyways it is killing me to walk up and down the stairs and my boyfriend made some wise crack joke at me cause I have to hold on to the handle just to make it cause my legs hurt so much and said "What's a matter you have to hold on cause your heavy?" He said he was sorry and only meant it as a joke but defiantly hurt my feelings enough to where all I want to do now is go to the gym even though I am in a ton of pain! CRAPPY DAY!

I shouldn't have read this cause I am doing the boot camp class tomorrow for the first time lol0

Tomorrow is a new day. Don't beat yourself up as you're allowed a treat every once in awhile. Beating yourself up isn't going to change what you ate. Give yourself permission to slip up and to have treats. By restricting treats and feeling guilty, shameful, and like a failure you set yourself up to binge.0

Men are clueless. Don't listen to him. Just take care of yourself. You can do it!0

What i've found out.. is that sometimes working out with sore muscles makes them less sore. I'd save give the gym a shot, don't over do it,and if 10 minutes in or so your legs are still killin ya, then stop. Something about build up of some sort of chemical in your muscles and if you get them warmed, stretched and working again it helps release it.
Feel better girl!0 -

Okay, first of all, disregard what your boyfriend said. He obviously had a brain fart. With that said, keep doing what you're doing. We all have bad days. What makes a person successful at reaching their goals is by getting back on track with the next meal, or the next day, and doing the best that they can. It DOES get easier. And pretty soon your boyfriend will take notice and not have moments of accidental stupidity. ;-) Chin up! You CAN do this!!!0

Hey it's ok. I'm in tons of pain as well and all we gotta do is just keep swimming. :-p0

Don't let words demotivate you. Use them to motivate you and show em. You started this journey knowing it would be tough. Besides, it was boot camp. It's worse in the military. While it's not "military", the treatment is. Stay head strong, and come back stronger. Orange serbet is healthier than gelato, or teramisu or those lil dessert shots they have. You did well.0

If my husband cracked a sarcastic remark like that, he'd be expecting one back from me. And this time it would be, "Yes, I am heavy. But just imagine how things would be if I were as heavy as you."0

Swimming laps really helps me muscles when they are screaming from Body Pump. Boot Camp is hard too. A light workout WILL help with the soreness. And tell your boyfriend to stuff it.0

After you've done that boot camp a few more times, laugh with him then give him "playful"punch in the arm : D see who is laughing then!
But no, seriously, see if you can get him to do it WITH you. Just once. The tables will turn!0 -
Unprovoked, I would never say something like that. But, fair is fair. If it was supposed to be a joke for me, it would be a joke for him too.0

men are poo sometimes. They can be insensitive and don't think before they speak, then they see how bad they made you feel and feel remorse (well some of them do).
Tomorrow is a new day hun a little treat isn't a bad thing every now and then.
As for your sore legs - it's delayed onset of muscle soreness - different things work for different people. i noticed someone said some light exercise of the sore muscles can help, so maybe some walking, otherwise you can do some stretches, a good one for your quads is to stand and bring your heel of one leg to your bum, whilst holding it there, if you push your hips forward you will feel a good stretch.
If it's waaay too sore to stretch or lightly exercise them, i've found that sitting in a warm bath and kneading/massaging the ouchy muscle helps wonders.

1. your bf = major idiot today. he should be forced to make up for his NOT FUNNY comment. maybe thinking about how he can make it up will help you feel better.
2. try not to beat yourself up about having a "little bit" of sherbet the world is FULL of delicious, not always healthy, food. it's important to have a healthy relationship with food. sometimes fruits & veggies just don't get it, sherbet, ice cream, or a shrimp basket in popeye's is in order. the key is to not lose sight of your goal. all or none thinking can be our worst enemy. your sherbet has not derailed your entire weightloss journey. heck, if it did we'd ALL (or maybe just us two) would be in a lot of trouble!
3. remember, you are fearfully and awesomely made! there is NO ONE like you
today may have been crappy, but you have another chance tomorrow, keep moving forward! feel better :flowerforyou:0 -
Blow off what your boyfriend said, men are stupid sometimes!!! They say sh** without thinking. I agree with someone else's post, have him go with you so he can get first hand how bad you hurt after. The other night I was doing some Wii fit stuff and the next day couldn't walk I hurt so bad. So I feel your pain!
Your doing great so keep it up!0 -
Thank you everyone! I appreciate it! He is just dumb sometimes and needs to pay attention to what comes out of his mouth but your right. As for feeling bad he doesn't really because he says it was just a "joke" but IF I could get him to go I would, but he refuses to go to the gym with me and he doesn't need to which makes it worse!0
-
Do you joke right back with him? Not necessarily in a mean way, but enough to let him know you're serious, if that makes sense. There is a reason my hubby doesn't make stupid @ss comments to me anymore. It's because I can dish it right back. He says something like that, he knows it's going to bounce right off me and hit him upside the head. :P
Edit: And as he sees me typing this, I have a smile on my face. So I explain what I said in the thread. His response is, "Pretty much!" LOL!0 -
Bunchesonothing- I would try but the heavy joke calling him heavy wouldn't work he doesn't need to work out he is naturally fit and it is irritating! I try to tell him stupid stuff but nothing bothers him like it does me! I know I am sensative but that was the kicker for me I guess since I am trying so hard!0
-
He doesn't have to have an apparent flaw for you to exploit to hurt him with. It's not about that, really. It's about making him understand that he has a spitfire on his hands. And that he can't just say what he wants. Not joking could easily sound whiny or *****y. Humor is often the easiest way to get a point across without raising people's defenses.0

as long as you aren't in pain as in being hurt then embrace that pain. That pain is your body getting stronger and healthier. I love/hate that feeling after a really good weight lifting session! and yes, as long as you aren't doing the exact same exercises tomorrow hit the gym. It will hurt for the first few minutes and then you will actually feel better. Any time I up my weights even by 5lbs I hobble around after the first workout, then it gets better.0

I've lost in excess of 50 lbs in the last year...I swim laps daily, and just started a circuit class with a great teacher who kicks my *kitten*! I am enjoying the pain as I feel like it's doing something. Just keep it up and go every day or as often as you can! I will be 60 in December and it scares me as I'm afraid of being old and fat and out of shape. Do what you can for you and don't listen to anyone else!0

I broke out Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred that I just started and told him I would only forgive him if he did it for 20 minutes while I watched. So he is... This is heaven!0

There you go!0

Defiantly making me feel better and I will be okay tomorrow! Hopefully this will teach him a lesson how hard I work to do this!!0
