In March 2014 I began a journey to get healthy. I made good food choices and visited the gym five or six days every week. I did things at the gym I never thought I could do. I had an amazing trainer who pushed me every day. I lost almost 100 pounds and felt amazing. Everything changed in July 2015 when I had to have a tendon replaced in my ankle. My heel bone also had to be broken. I never imagined the recovery would have such an impact on my life. I was 100% nonweightbearing for eight weeks. Between The surgery and a break up I fell into bad habits in self-pity. Every day I told myself I would start again tomorrow but here I am 20 pounds heavier and miserable. But tomorrow finally came today. I've visited the gym for the first time since last spring. I know it's going to take time to get back to where I was but it felt so good to be back in that gym. I need people to hold me accountable as well as give me encouragement.
