Pass the carrots...I have the same question.0

Lol would be nice if some people would give us some info on some0

What are you looking for in a fitness device?
You asked a question, with very little details.
ie, I could say "Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire", but it's like $600, and overkill for most folk here.0 -
really depends on what your looking for. is HR important? just want to count steps? need GPS? whats your budget? many questions come to mind.0

There's a lot of fit-ness devices out there and it can get overwhelming.
I stumbled on this device while watching a few "late night informercials" online. It does have bluetooth capabilities and an app that will allow your fellow fit-ness friends encourage you on your journey. It's somewhat cheaper than most of the devices out there.

I also purchased a Fitbit Charge HR since I was curious what my HR monitoring would be when using the fit-ness device mentioned above.
Hope this helps close the gap!0 -
a device like a step tracker or something?
I just retired my Fitbit. I had ti a long time and it wouldn't charge anymore and I was kind of over it. I recommend them though. They are good for figuring out how active you really are. I realized I'm way more active than I gave myself credit for being.0 -

There is a wide variety of trackers, for a wide variety of users. Different price levels give you different bells & whistles. It all depends upon what you want it to do.
FitBits (one popular brand) ranges from $59 - $249

I chose a FitBit One because my cardio is step based. So the calorie counter is close enough. Nothing counts strength training. I like that it tracks sleep, and because it's not worn on the wrist it doesn't count steps for arm movements. Discreet and clips to my bra.
Here's a link to the FitBit group to give you some more ideas: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users0 -

Do you want it waterproof/sweatproof, or not?
If so, look at the Garmin lines.
Do you want a heavy social interaction?
If so, look at the Fitbit lines.
Are you going to use it just to track steps to use with caloric intake goals?
If so, look at the fitbit lines.
Are you going to use it to track things like runs? Cycling?
Runs only, Garmin/Tom Tom/Polar lines. Cycling? Garmin. Multi-sport? Garmin.
Do you want Smartwatch features?
If so, Garmin's Vivoactive takes top position here. Fitbit's notifications have much to be desired.
Pretty much all of them have the alarm feature and sleep tracking. The Vivoactive has an always-on display, and it's battery beats the pants off of the Fitbit lines (My wife charges her Charge HR every other day). The HRM on the devices is pointless (IMO) as it's horribly inaccurate, but it is better than nothing, I suppose.0 -
Wow this helped a lot thanks i think I'm leaning towards the garmin definitely0
