44 and a heart attack survivor

Hi!
I'm Toni. I'm 44 and survived a heart attack last month. Talk about a wake up call... Right? I have 150lbs to lose and would love some friends for support.
I didn't even have a weight problem until my 30s. A high stress career, a couple of kids, and a knee injury and subsquent surgeries from a 2010 fall down a flight of stairs led to my sedentary lifestyle and massive weight gain. My heart attack was from a blockage in what is known as the "widow maker" artery. I am grateful to have survived and get this opportunity to change my life. Please feel free to friend me and we can go on this journey together.

A friend of mine in his '60s survived one of those "widowmakers" last year(!) They are frightening things, and I am happy you are recovering!
It sounds like you have some physical challenges to overcome. Exercise isn't necessary for weight loss, fortunately. Keep to your calories, weigh and measure your food, drink plenty of water and you should do fine. I recommend the beginner forums to get some solid advice on nutrition and motivation if you need it.
Add me if you like, and good luck on your journey!0 -
Thank you!
Funny, I used to think it was humiliating walking into a gym at my weight/size. But it's even more humiliating walking into cardiac rehab as the youngest person by 25-30 years. It's usually me and all the 70 year olds working out.
