i just jogged my first mile ever without stopping or walking. like ever ever. i was never even able to do that in highschool. might have been slow but i did it! and i wasnt even trying today. yesterday i was able to do .55mile, walked for .2mi, jogged another .1 then walked.
today i hit .5 and said, i think i can do a little bit more. then i said, i think i can push to the end of the song. then i said i hit .75 lets see how much more i can do, and there it was! 1 mile!!!! i almost fell off the tredmill i was so excited

Congrats! I know EXACTLY how you feel!

I started C25K just to see if I could run an entire mile for the first time in my life. That amazing feeling you get when you do something you never thought you could do is why I keep running. Last summer's mile is now this summer's half marathon!

And you'll find that it is not even the distance that counts. The real gift you give yourself is what I hope becomes an ever growing realization that you can accomplish anything to which you set your mind. Congratulations. Wishing you well for staying the course

so question - should my next goal (other than being able to do this again!) be to go faster, or go longer? i dont really have any other goals because i didnt think this would happen anytime soon.

Awesome! I know exactly how you feel. It happened a few months ago for me and same as you...I didn't really set out to do it that day it just happened as you described. Its been a few months for me. I'm still slow but I can do a 5k now. Congrats again!
