Getting back on track AGAIN!!

It seems like I am always trying to get back on track. Its been a stressful month and I haven't kept up with my diary or exercise. A death in the family and a long car trip to the funeral, my son's high school graduation, a 4 day work conference and I know, no excuses, but its been difficult! However, I'm back and trying again. Can use all the help I can get. Thanks

hey me too ...although not the grief your going thru but I def loose track of myself. I was here a bit ago then just lost myself ... my husband is in a depressioin brought on by post tramatic stress disorder after a tour in afghanistan and my oldest son recently diagnosed with ADHD lots of stress in this house and sometimes its just easier to let the 2 of them drag me down with them. Last week I went out and bought a pair of shorts and a tank top ... really cute ... got it home tried it on (hate trying on clothes in the store) it didn't fit by accident I bought the wrong size too small .... so I said screw it not bringing it back I hung it on my wall and I look at it every morning ... and have been journalling and tracking my exercise all week.!!!!!! the thing I am loving about this site is my projected weight loss in 5 weeks!! very very inspiring.
so go for it girl ... grab my hand i'll pull you back on the wagon!!!!!!0 -
I understand going off the wagon and coming back again. Seems to be my pattern - more off the diet than on! But if we can just admit the mistake, and get back on the wagaon again, and again - we'll make it.0

You have never failed until you have given up!
I know that sounds trite, but I was just looking at my own progress, which has been through some rough spots. It has taken me 2 1/2 years to lose the 76.6 pounds that I have lost. That's a long time, and there was one spot where I hovered around the same spot for a year, and another (more recently), where I did the same thing for about 5 months. That sounds discouraging.
BUT, I weigh 76+ less than I did 2 1/2 years ago! I've never "gained it all back" or even "gained most of it back" or (what usually happens) "gained it all PLUS"! Even if you have to slog through some discouraging times, never give up. Never throw in the towel. If you keep trying, keep adjusting (when adjusting is needed), keep tracking what you eat (even when you hate to look at it), keep exercising (even if it means jumping back in when you realize you just blew the last two weeks), you will eventually get to your goal.
Many years ago I was a member of Weight Watchers. I once listened to a lecturer say "If you cheat you'll never get to your goal, and even if you do you'll never keep it off." She was wrong. Defeatist thinking creates defeat. Positive thinking creates positive changes.0 -

I have fallen hard.. So Im trying to get back on track myself once again. I love seeing all the success stories and hope that I can one day have my own story:)0
