Latest WTF is going on question :)

Ok, so, I'd gained a pound and wondered if it could have been because of a swollen ankle. My sodium stays low and I'm pretty consistent with what I eat so I . It ended up not mattering because I lost the pound plus another pound a half the next week. Then a half a pound each week for the following 3 weeks.
The swollen ankle turned out to be dysfunctional tendons so, because of that, I nixed what higher intensity cardio I'd been doing which wasn't much. Basically, it was a bit more jumping when doing knee raises and kicks during a Leslie Sansone dvd. As well, as eating a couple hundred calories less because of the loss of calories out.
Now...weight loss isn't linear, etc...but it sure seemed to be the past month! And normally, I wouldn't complain or question it but I'm 5'2" and 105 (well, 104.4 now) lbs and everything I hear about the loss of the last few pounds is it's gonna take a looooooooooooong time.
I kept a perfect world number deficit of about 2500-2700 which actually would coincide with the half pound losses since I do a tiny bit of cheating...and I did a lot of cheating last week that I probably should have maintained.
My only other issue is I have Ulcerative Colitis but I wanted to get others opinions before freaking out I'm going through some kind of flare or something because, truthfully, weight loss has NEVER gone this well or consistent with me.
So what say you, experts?
(Also, I'll be seeing my gastro sometime after April 15th. I just have to make the appointment.)

1. You're in a healthy weight range for your height, so it's going to be tougher to create a caloric deficit. What is your goal weight?
2. If you're not exercising, you should probably drop your caloric intake to compensate. You keep a deficit of 2500-2700? Per day? Hoping that's per week. Yeah, if you did a lot of cheating (especially if those cheats are above your exercise-added calories, rather than maintenance calories), plus stopped exercising, that could account for your weight gain.0 -
I say relax.
*Disclaimer* not an expert in all the various things you've listed in your post, any one of which could cause an issue...I am an expert on freaking out over absolutely nothing, though. BTDT0 -
I have the same question as above: how much more do you want to lose? You are already at a healthy weight.
And, I'm short too, so I know that every pound counts, however, my weight can fluctuate between 3 - 5 pounds a day, so I cannot be worried about tenths of a pound or even 1 pound. It's easier to set a goal-weight range, IMHO.0 -
A pound is irrelevant. 4 pounds is pretty irrelevant, too.
Drink 16oz of water, you'll instantly be up a little over a pound. Have some salty foods, you'll temporarily increase. Is it that time of the month? I've seen women post on here that their weight can swing up 9lbs in some cases!
Don't worry about it. You're also at the low end of a healthy BMI, and almost underweight. What kind of change is it that you're looking for?0 -
Damn, y'all are fast.
I think I kinda sucked at asking the actual question.
I'm consistently losing weight when I probably shouldn't be and guess I wondered if, when you get this low in weight, if it should be this easy to keep losing?
No, I'm perfectly fine maintaining right now but I keep a deficit because of the cheating and just because of the calories out thing. I'd also gone a year gaining and losing the same pound (it turned out my fitbit was overestimating calories burned) so a deficit sort of makes me feel safe. Plus there's the whole creature of habit thing.
I walk a lot for exercise because without it my tdee would be around 1400 (if I'm lucky) and I like to eat so 1400 just won't cut it. The dysfunctional tendons only slowed me down a little with the "higher intensity".
The 2500-2700 calorie deficit was per week! I couldn't even fathom that per day.
That time of the month? That ship sailed a long time ago.
I don't know why I'm fighting just eating more. I'm trying not to. I'm trying to lower that weekly deficit by 100 or so calories a week now but won't know if this is god making up for that year of gaining and losing a pound or going through some sort of UC flare.
Maybe I should go snatch a box of the Do Si Dos from my boss' office and polish off a sleeve.
*hopes people in the Oreo thread don't see that!*

You have a dysfunctional ankle worked out on it wich will cause stress to your body you then lowered calories wich caused even more stress to your body Stop working out until your ankle is better and dont lower your calories but eat in a calorie deficit. To lose or to maintain your current weight. One Word "Calm Down & Reduce Stress"0

Hah! All for naught ...
Yes, normally losing the last little bit is harder, though some of that is just not keeping good logs. Getting to the end exposes all of the little variances in intake and output that people let pass when they've got a bigger deficit and can afford to do so.
It's well within the realm of possibility that all of the weight you gained was from the ankle swelling. If so, then a lb of what you lost since would be that water weight. And, since you stopped exercising, you may have lost more water weight from that. It's not unusual for people to drop weight when they take a break from exercising.
My advice would be to keep on what you've been doing for another week and see if you stabilize or keep dropping. If it's keep dropping, then yes, I'd eat more.0 -
Just wanted to recommend an app called gi monitor to you for people with chrohn's and colitis0

I find when I'm hungry, I need to eat. It sounds to me like your body is asking for more food. I remember not wanting to go into maintenance, too. There is a whole unhealthy mindset that can take over regarding food when weight-loss is the goal and I definitely had to give myself a talking to.
It's okay, you're going to work through this. Just keep an eye on your weight. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that gains and losses don't happen quickly. I lost my weight nine years ago. I've kept it mostly off, though there have been long stretches where I ate waaaaaaay over my maintenance and only gained 2-5 pounds. I just know now to keep an eye on things and not get too carried away for too long, and then I need to get right back to it. It's a discipline like brushing and flossing. Keep an eye out and you'll be fine.

Please dont doubt your success unless you have a good reason. You have done remarkably well - take some credit for all the hard work that you have put into this! So I am in the "relax" camp on this. Stay calm and carry on.....0

LOL thanks, all. I'm *trying* to relax. I actually did break out a sleeve of those do si dos today but obviously am trying not to eat the whole sleeve.
I'm a little worried this could be my UC acting up but, hey, any excuse to eat more, right?Just wanted to recommend an app called gi monitor to you for people with chrohn's and colitis
That app puts my little spreadsheet log to shame. Thanks for the recommendation!

You are in a good healthy weight range for your height. And women can fluctuate a few lbs a day. Do not get down about it.0
