I've been binge eating for two weeks, and before anyone assumes I'm looking for therapy on this website, I;m not as i know that people on here are not qualified to provide it, and I will be joining therapy shortly. I recently ate around 4000 cal of food yesterday which include eating healthy, but i was worried that if i didn't have a treat, i would binge so i had a treat and ended up binging on ice cream cookies, etc, and I've been doing this for 2 weeks in a range of 2500-4000 cal. my maintenance is 1600-1700. i just would like some advice of HOW TO EAT HEALTHY today. Im not hungry but i know i shouldn't restrict.

Kudos for recognizing that you want to do things differently today, planning for therapy, and asking for help here. Here is my completely amateur unprofessional advice, based on things that have worked for me.

Only you know what will work for you, of course, but a few suggestions are:

Plan and log everything you will eat for the day at the start of the day. Before you reach for anything else, journal your thoughts and feelings. Then, if you still go for the treats, log those.

Before reaching for the treat, try any of the following just to try to divert your thoughts and create a delay: get a cup of tea/coffee/water, go for a short walk or go up and down a flight of stairs, chew some gum, call someone, or post a message here. Add in a healthy snack, like an apple, even if it wasn't in your log for the day. There have been times when I've wanted the cake/cookies/whatever left out at work, and had an apple instead and felt like I deserved a medal for that choice. It's not easy, but can be done. Tell yourself to wait an hour, or 10 minutes, and see if you can continue delaying.

Also, plan ways to avoid the unplanned foods. Are they in your house, or do you have to travel to get them? If they are easily accessible at home, give them away or throw them away and do not buy them again. Getting them out of sight and out of easy access may help you avoid them.

Best of luck, ignore the trolls, and if you binge again today, there's always tomorrow! Forgive yourself, and give yourself credit for trying. I wish you all the best!!

Hey huney, if your not hungry you should try and eat small meals try to eat at least something, even if its half of piece toast. Try and eat 3 meals a day breakie lunch and dinner. and i think the most thing ive learnt is keep food interesting and to be honest with you i used to eat so many things that were bad for me but now im eating healthy when i do eat crap im like ew no cant eat that lol try and find healthier alternatives for the cookies and ice cream like for instance i eat weight cookies and walls light ice cream. if your stuck for recipe ideas i have a page on facebook add yourself https://www.facebook.com/groups/192418107779602/and feel free to add me on here
