I'm trying to lose weight but I love eating at night. As long as I count cals, can I eat at night?

I love late-night snacks. I've had people tell me I shouldn't eat at night, yet I've heard others say it doesn't matter.

Stay in a deficit. Eat when you want.0

Yep. Lots of people keep some calories saved from the day to have at night when they really want them.0

You need to do more than just count the calories, you need to ensure the cals that you count have you in a deficit, as a deficit is required to lose weight.0

As long as you stay within your calories, then no it doesn't matter when you eat.0

Time of day doesn't matter.0

Generally speaking no, as long as you're in a calorie deficit you still will lose weight. If you wanted to concentrate on body composition re: lose fat gain muscle aka not be 'skinny fat' you need to look at your macronutrients.0

Question: are you a Gremlin?0

Nopes. I do IF (18:6) and have my biggest meal at dinner. As long as you stay in a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight.0

Well over half of my calories are consumed within two hours of bedtime. Doesn't matter.0

I love snacking at night so I eat lighter throughout the day to accommodate that. Didn't stop me from losing weight.0

I literally eat all of my calories at night.0

When you go to bed with undigested food in your stomach your body has to digest it while you sleep. Your body has to expend energy and water content in order to process food, rather than heal and regenerate like the normal sleeping process does. So depending on the load, you'll wake up still tired because your body spend all night digesting instead of resting.
This is not true. It is fine to eat at night.0 -
