am just starting and dont really know what I am doing so started Saturday....When I turned 40 the weight literally packed on and I am having a terrible time losing anything......walked 1 1/2 years but only lost 20 lbs......I am NOT a breakfast eater soooooooooooooooooooooooo NEW TO ME is eating breakfast withing 20 minutes of getting out of bed......I use my gazelle for exercise and am aiming for one hour per day.....pulled it out into my living room so I can watch shows OR listen to music while I exercise. My current goal is to go down 40 lbs to start then set a new goal.......

What is a reasonable goal to lose the 40 lbs?

Hi, welcome to MFP. Where are you exactly in Canada? I have relatives who are living in Vancouver. Anyway you shouldn't skip breakfast because that is the most important meal of the day plus its essential to weight loss. I was also not used to breakfast but now I am eating my morning meals. Good luck on your goal and just take it easy. Losing weight requires more time. Whats most important is the health benefits you can get out of dieting and exercise.

Hello, i'm from canada as well (east coast) and this is a great site for help and support !
I do want to lose 40lbs, maybe even more but I haven't set a goal for myself yet since I am taking this one day at a time. I would like to have it gone by the end of the year...summer will be real hard for me so i'm taking it slow ! hehe

Fee free to add me as a friend if you want, i find it hard to look at food diary from people outside canada since they don't have the same food everywhere..still gives me a good idea though.

Good luck and Have fun :)
