Does anyone do this exercise? And if so, how do you record the exercise?

I've done them at boot camp before. Amazing workout, but as far as calories burned while using the TRX's, I'd look into a heart rate monitor.

You are going to have a LOVE/HATE relationship with TRX. I am on my second class and can see body changing results. My weight has stayed the same as I believe I am building more muscle than loosing fat. Which can be frustrating. I figured out that I could use "Calisthenics (pushups, sit-ups), vigorous effort" as the selection for this workout. Certainly does burn the calories!

Oh boy. thanks for the heads up. After I'm done with the TRX class im doing a kettle ball class.

Were you really sore after the TRX class?

I do a pilates class reformer, tower, pilates chair etc, Its not a cardio but I'm gaining muscles and losing inches :)

    Hi,

I just took a trx class combined with kettleball.

My back where like my ribs are kinda hurts. My instructor was telling us to do crunches, pushups, side like push ups it was hard. I was sweating like a pig. My entire body is sore. I couldn't do half of the excercises. I Couldn't lift my hips to do the side push ups and have my back straight.

What excercises do you think I can do to improve my practice. I plan on going next week. Its a great workout i notice a change already in my body.

Keep doing what the instructor tells you to do. Eventually you will get better. I am amazed how far I have come and look forward to getting better. I remember when I could barely do a push up. My upper body strength has improved.

Who knew there were so many muscles in a forearm? LOL

I was introduced to TRX by my PT and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I've been doing it once a week
for about 6 months now. It's not only fun because of the variety, but I get an overall great
work out as my trainer works in cardio inbetween exercises.

I am so much more toned and have definition since doing TRX- I can actually see my
    triceps! lol

If your gym offers TRX, give it a try. You will be sore in places you didnt know existed the
first 1-2 tmes but that just shows how many muscles groups you are workin out! Almost
all the exercises engage your core, and the more you do it, the stronger you get!

Google it and check it out!

Oh, and as far as tracking the exercise, I just use a HRM with a calorie counter and avg
    350 -400 calories pr 45 min session.

I absolutely love this! I do it once a week with a personal trainer. The above posts are correct, you will work muscles you didn't know you had. I can see significant results already. I have done 5 or 6 sessions so far. Will do it once a week indefinitley.

As I said I would love to do it everyday, but as it is considered more strength training, I
wouldn't do it more than 2-3 times a week. But as it costs extra at my gym, I can
only afford it once a week anyway.

    My exercise schedule is:
Mon strength training and 30 min of cardio
    Tues 45 min cardio
Wed work out with my trainer
    Thur 45 min cardio
    Fri TRX

I did a 9 week TRX program this past winter - twice a week.

I wore my HRM and burned on average 500 calories in a 60 minute session.

    Excellent workout.

We bought one for home, unfortunately I have not been using it often.
