Help! I keep updating my weight on MFP but it keeps saying "0 Ibs lost"

Options
I like being able to see how much weight I've lost..but it keeps reading zero on my profile. Has anyone else experienced this?

On a side note I lost a total 3.8 pounds so far.. Yay!

The reason this happened to me is that it was comparing to the weight I FIRST gave MFP when I signed up years ago.

So I first weighed 200 when I signed up. Years later I was up to 220. Then I was down to 210. It read "0 lbs lost" because it was comparing to my initial weight of 200, not my highest weight of 220.

Where exactly on the site or app are you changing it?

You have to delete all those previous old weights.

If you are changing your starting weight then it won't show you how much you have lost. You have to click "check in" and add a new weight- then it will tell you how much you have lost.

I went back and deleted all my old weights and it still said zero lost or would update to some ridiculous number if I tried to input current info. What finally worked was picking a random date from way before I was even on this site and putting in a starting weight there.

Please see this article, and search for other helpful articles, on the MFP Help pages...

    myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/10592-how-do-i-change-my-starting-weight-or-edit-incorrect-weight-entries-

You must use the Web version, not the mobile apps, to update your starting weight or edit previous entries. On your mobile device, you can use the Web browser and request to load the desktop site.

Navigate to APPS > Tickers > Update your weight data. Enter your desired starting weight and click Save Changes. That will update the oldest date/weight in your profile, which is used to calculate your overall loss (or gain).

Alternately, navigate to MY HOME > Check-in > Edit Previous Entries.

    a. Enter a new value in the Starting Weight text box and click Change; or

    b. Scroll down and click on the highest page number to take you to the oldest date/weight entry. Once you find your oldest date/weight entry, under Add New Entry, enter the new date/weight and click Add New Entry. That will replace the oldest date/weight with your new one.

    c. If you want to keep all of your historical data, Add New Entry at least one day older than the oldest date/weight, since any weight loss or gain calculations use the oldest date/weight.
