I started April 21, 2015 by changing my eating and joined MFP June 2015. I also work with my Public Health Department on a prevention of diabetes class in May 2015. I have lost 101 lbs. MFP has helped me because I work with the competitions - I have done a biggest loser, Hogwars, Amazing race and Divergent. They keep me on track and motivate me to keep exercising. I make lots of mini goals to stay on track. I would like to thank all the people that coordinate the challenges.
Here is my wake up picture taken in March 2015 and the same dress one year later

Amazing work! Was the diabetes prevention class part of your motivation to lose weight? I'm an RN and I know that treating noncompliant diabetic patients was a huge motivator for me to start to change. Excellent work!

Yes the diabetes prevention was a great motivator, we have to turn in our food logs and we had a great life coach. It was weekly at first and then went two weeks and then once a month. It is a one year program that is almost over. :( I will keep using MFP to stay motivated. I have 30 lbs to go to reach weight loss goal. I will re-evaluate after that.

Congratulations - what an accomplishment! I agree that mini-goals really help, especially when you have a lot of weight to lose - 10 pounds sounds more attainable than 100. Looks like it's time for a new, pretty dress.

Your bolero fit totally different over your bust. The difference is so noticeable. Well done

Nicely done! And hurray for the challenges helping keep you on track. It's so easy to fall off without that little bit of impetus, isn't it?
