Have you taken a pregnancy test? At 3 days late, you would probably get a result...then again, research says that even though the pregnancy test packages say "results as early as 5 days before" or whatever, that the over the counter tests really aren't Totally accurate until maybe 5 days after a missed period.
  • LOL better just get a pregnancy test and get it over with ;o)

Take a pee stick test. If it's negative and you still don't get your full period, go see a doctor for a blood test.

    Good luck to you :)

For me, spotting is when you wipe you see it or very little on pad or underwear. A period is something required on underwear or inside. I'd try the pregnancy test though. Exdept for the vomiting the other 2 were my symptoms of pregnancy.

    Morning sickness...check
    Chest/Breast sore...check
    Fatigue.....check
Late period....check, check, check, and double checked

    Results----Pregnant until proven otherwise.

Post the results later for us to see.

Sometimes the pee tests aren't that reliable. You should be able to get a blood test done immediately at the office. Call and find out if you can get an appointment.

do a test in a few days time. My friend took a test after 2 days missed P and it was negative and then did one days after the missed P and it was positive, if your scared go and get a blood test, the blood test will be able to show. However i was 3 weeks late and it turned out i wasn't pregnant, i think that was mainly my body finally becoming back to normal after being on the pill for 7 years, i have now been off the pill for a year and my series of missed/very late Ps wer around Jan time.

Good Luck and fingers crossed as i know your hoping for a positvie test! x

With my first pregnancy I spotted, then it went away. I learned something... often, when the egg attaches itself to the uterine wall it will cause spotting, and then you will not get a period. Although, my sister had her period for the first three months of her first pregnancy, and some women have had periods through most or all of their pregnancies.

I would take a pregnancy test and if you don't want to spend alot of money you should buy the test from the "Dollar Tree" if you have one. I know it sounds crazy but I've had 3 pregnancies that haven't worked out for me yet :( The first one I was 4 days late and I bought the "first response" test and got a negative and I ended up having to go to the doctor to find out I was pregnant. The last 2 pregnancies I bought tests from the dollar tree mostly because I was just curious if they worked and both times my positive showed the day before I even missed my period. It could just have been me but I can't see spending $20 on a test when you can spend $1 and find out. Anyway to answer your question spotting is exactly that, you just spot. It's very light and it's not uncommon to "spot" during early pregnancy and some people spot regularly through out their entire pregnancy. If your period is usually very light then it might be harder to tell if your just spotting or not. Anyway I would take a pregnancy test.

It seems a bit early to be sick, but everyone is different! No matter what if you have been throwing up for more than 2-3 days you need to see a doctor....unfortunately you won't get a definitive answer till then. Hope all goes well!

Just remember that for the test to be the most accurate it can be, you should test your first pee of the morning. The hormones are more concentrated then.

If you are stressed it can cause your hormones to get thrown off kilter. That means a host of bad behavior from your body. Like someone else said, if you are on the pill or other things, that can also be the reason. If you are on preg prevention you could be having a reaction to it.
Chest being sore around period time is common. When my hub was in Saudi Arabia during the gulf war I did not have a period for 3 months. The testing companies made a considerable amount of money off of me......lol. I did not feel stressed at the time..or so I thought. Throwing up could also be because you are stressed. Chest pain in women can mean you are ingesting to much caffiene. I know that sounds weird...but it is one of those weird chick things.
Just some alternatives to being pregnant. If there is a chance you might be than just start taking little better care of yourself till later on down the road. You might not show up on a test till you are farther into your pregnancy.
    Hope this helps

I dunno - if you have been sick for 2 weeks , then that would probably be a little to early as a preg symptom (ie. before implantation) but like the prev poster said, everyone is different!.

it sounds like a) you are preggo or b) you have been sick with flu or food poisoning and that has thrown your cycle off and causing the spotting/delayed period.

edit - just read the prev poster, stress was something that messed me up as well! good thought.

    good luck!

If you're not pregnant I'll eat my shoe. Time to take a test! I was actually 2 months pregnant before I figured it out, and it was after I started throwing up all the time. Usually nausea doesn't start until about 6 weeks so you need to test soon. Time to get on those prenatals and start eating extra folic acid!

Oh, and don't let a little bleeding convince you that you're not pregnant. I bled all the way through the first trimester. Not at all unusual.

I agree, i didn't feel very stressed but it could be a lot of reasons. if you think you are just relax and take folic acid tablets every day, even if you are not pregnant, taking them before you are pregnant helps get your body "ready". my friend took them amd then the following month found out she was expecting again! (i will be taking them in September)!

    Godd luck again. xxx

I had 3 negative tests with my daughter, and was sick for 2 weeks before 1 finally was positive. But, since having her I have 'early pregnancy' symptoms with nearly every period. Try to relax and wait a couple of days. There have been months I was positive I was preg, and 2 weeks later had a period. Hormones suck!

Make sure you are using the right kind of pregnancy test and that you are using your first pee in the morning. If you are late on your period, you should get a correct result on a pink line test. The blue dye ones are notoriously unreliable, and lines are the best (over plus signs). The ones that I buy at the Dollar Tree are my fave - the are cheap and accurate. If you still are feeling like this on Monday and you are still getting negative tests, I would call your doc for a blood test. Spotting can be an early sign, it can also be a period, it can also be a very confused body due to lifestyle changes, stress, etc. Good luck to you!

if your blood test is also negative, please please get a pap if you haven't had one in the last year.

Jen....if you think you might be pregnant, then maybe just put on a pantiliner so you can monitor the spotting more
effectively than using a tampon. when a dr. wants you to tell about the amt of spotting (if you are PG) you will be
    able to gauge it better.
ultimately, you should seek proper medical advice. if the spotting gets worse with bad cramping, you should seek
medical attention. only you know if there is a chance of pregnancy.

take good care of yourself. Kathleen
