Running Pals

Hi there!

I just finished C25K a week ago and I'm now training towards 10K. My goal is to participate in my city's running events (particulary in one happening in December).

Is there anyone in the same situation? Add me so we can discuss training, achievements and motivate each other!

Hello! Next month I'll be in my first 5k and I did something crazy the other day and signed up for the Maui Half Marathon when my fiancé get hitched in Hawaii in September. I'm currently training, only third day so far, but I'm definitely motivated. Love to help out and would appreciate any support, too. :)

I trained and ran a 5k last July with C25k but after I developed runner's knee I took some time off and did some PT. I am now 2 weeks from my first 10k (after training for the last several months) and I am excited! I still have to be careful with my knee, but I have learned to really warm up and cool down, STRETCH STRETCH STRETCH, drink water and listen to your body. I also really recommend getting shoes from a running store (if you can afford it). Good socks too. My shin pain and sore feet completely disappeared and I haven't gotten a single blister from those shoes. I hope to do a half marathon in November (the timing is more to do with my schedule and not because it will take me so long to train) and look forward to the challenge.

I would love more friends! Feel free to add me :) And good luck!

I've been running for a few years. In my experience, registering for an event or two or three or eight scheduled is nearly crucial to keep motivated and making the transition from worrying about finishing to working on PRs.
