Richer or thinner?

Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor is famous for saying: "A woman can't be too rich or too thin." Though good MFPers would at least disagree with the second, how would you feel if given the option of JUST ENOUGH of one or the other?

If you woke up tomorrow would you prefer to suddenly be:
a) At your goal weight
or
b) Comfortably well off. All your debts are gone, you'd still have to work but not at a job you hate.

Definitely b. Having enough money that I could do exactly what I wanted with my time would be more satisfying to me.

    B. Mostly because if I had more than enough money, I could continue to work on my goal weight.

If money were the key to being slim, there would be no fat rich people.

I am well on my way to B. But honestly even if not, I'd still choose A.

I would love to work at a job I didn't hate. I always thought that if I won the lottery, I'd still have to work, but it would be at my discretion and a job I enjoyed going to.

Same here. I don't hate my job now. It pays well, the benefits are great, I love my boss and the people I work with. But would I rather be doing something that's more meaningful to me personally? Absolutely. And that's more important to me than whether or not the scale says exactly what I want it to say every morning. Besides, I'm like you, even if I won the lottery, I'd have to do SOMETHING productive with my time, even if it was charitable work that didn't pay a dime.

    B.

Money can't buy you love but I would love to not be working at a job I hate...

I'd go with A, but only if it meant I had my dream body and fitness level. Goal weight really means nothing to me anymore...it's more about how my body looks, feels and performs.

Is it bad that I would choose A?

Hell, if I'm as sexy as I wanna be...The green will come...LOL You know I'm just joking right?

Seriously though...I want my body back. Then I could focus more on the money part. I'd have the confidence to excel. ;)

    This is my thinking also.

    b) Definitely.

I am willing to do the work to get to my goal weight. But, having enough money to do more for and with my kids would be a dream come true. In fact, nothing would make me happier. Not even dropping another 23 lbs.

Well off. In the end all Wallis had was her skinny *kitten* and a weird husband who had to constantly beg money from his baby brother.

I want money, then I'll hired bigger but shorter people to stand around me and make me look thinner and taller.

Think I would go for A, would love to be more confident about the way I look and am already in a job I love. As they say money doesn't buy happiness but as my husband says it would help get you there! I would prefer to be happy within body, mind and heart/love and then worry about the money thing lol! But maybe that's just me, always been a dreamer

I'll take the money. I'm more sick and tired of being poor than I am of being fat. The sooner I can get these stupid credit cards paid off the better.

    (B) without that added stress I'm sure the pounds will melt away...so I'd end up with both :blushing:
