Hi! My name is Sue and I'm once again trying to lose weight. Quit smoking in 1997. Gained 50 lbs. and started smoking again in 2002. Lost 50 lbs. and kept most of the weight off for about four years. Quit smoking again in January, 2012, and regained the 50 lbs. This time I'm NOT going back to smoking.

I've started a medically-supervised weight loss plan: Gluten-free, modified Paleo and Belviq to help curb my appetite. I'm happy to report that I've lost 10 lbs. since February 29, 2016.

Now that I've got the eating pretty much under control, it's time to start exercising. YUK!! But I know I've gotta do it so will start walking again this weekend. Wish me luck. Hope I can do as well as a lot of people who have posted on MFP.

Good for you for not going back to smoking. Slow & steady weight loss will be your friend. Don't hate exercise! The weather is warming up and Spring is a lovely time of year - stop and smell the flowers while you're walking!

Thank you, ladies. I know walking is good. I was up to between 3-4 miles a day last year before it got so hot here in Florida that I just couldn't take it. Hoping mornings will remain cool for awhile. We'll see.

You can do this! I love to walk. I used to hate the idea of any type of planned exercise and now I miss it if I don't get on the treadmill at least every other day. :)
