CI<CO. That's the secret. Your CO may be lower, so you may have to adjust for that.

If you are taking your medicine and the right dose, weight loss shouldn't be a problem as long as you are in a deficit. I am hypothyroidism as well. I have read several books and have done some research on the best diet for hypothyroidism. The advice from the books is to avoid broccoli, cabbage, Brussel sprouts (but cooked is ok), and soy products (this cuts out a lot of protein shakes and bars). Also it was suggested to try and eat gluten free.
Now with all that being said- I have lost weight before by maintaining a calorie deficit. This was before I knew that people with hypothyroidism should have dietary restrictions. I think you might want to consider these things to feel better, but weight can be lost with a deficit alone.
Hope I helped! -also, medicine on an empty stomach an hour before food, or take it at night 3 hours after any food. <3
Plus another thing to consider is exercise. If you aren't doing it, you need to. Even walking will be beneficial.

It's not your thyroid as long as you're on medication. I've lost over 60 lbs and have been hypo for years. As malibu927 says, it's about calories in being less than calories out. No secrets. Weigh all your food and measure all your liquids. It works.
