Anybody have some good homemade hummus recipes? I've just gotten back on a hummus kick and I'd like to try to make it myself.

Thanks!

It's a Barefoot Contessa Recipe for the Food Network.

    Hummus

    4 garlic cloves
2 C. Canned Chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved
    1 1/2 Tsp. Kosher Salt
    1/3 C. Tahini (Seasme Paste)
6 T. Lemon Juice (it calls for fresh, Martin uses lemon juice in a jar)
2 T. Water or liquid from the chickpeas
    8 dashes of Hot Sauce

Add all ingredients to the food processor and process until the hummus is coarsely pureed

I use i can drained chick peas, splash of low sodium chicken broth, 2 tablespoons Tahini, 2 cloves garlic, 1 lemon (juice only), salt, pepper - I use my bullet.

When done I drizzle olive oil, lemon, paprika and chopped parsley.

When you get imaginative you can add some red peppers or other herbs to create your own favorite flavor!

McCormick has a recipe right on the cumin bottle, I make it all the time and its ALWAYS a winner and super easy. Sometimes I'll roast some peppers and throw them in too.

I pretty much do the exact same thing except I use tsp of cumin instead of Tahini. It lowers the calorie count I think.

    Hummus:
1 can bush's chick peas, drained ( save some liquid)
1/3 cup of liquid from chickpeas
    1/3 cup of tahini
1/3 cup of lemon juice (alil less if want)
garlic powder (we used garlic salt once by accident it was tasty but higher in sodium which I couldnt afford )

I tried the low sodium chickpeas and the hummus came out pretty dull tasting, I dont mind it when I am dipping with Special K Savory Herb crackers since those are very flavorful. But when using hummus as a spread or by itself I go with the regular can.

Sometimes I will add 1/4-1/2 cup of plain yogurt to my recipe as well to make it extra creamy. I find that homemade hummus comparead to restaurant quality is not as smooth. Adding extra tahini will help make it creamier.

    1 can chickpeas
1/4 cup lemon juice (but I usually add more because I like the lemon flavor)
    few garlic cloves
    few tbsp-1/4 cup tahini
    1/4 cup plain yogurt

You can really jazz up hummus with different spices, using roasted red pepper or fresh herbs. To serve, place in a shallow bowl/plate run a spoon around to make a little mound in the middle and sprinkle with olive oil and paprkia. You can add fresh herbs for color as well!

    super simple...

    A can of chickpeas drained
2+ cloves of garlic (depending on how garlicy you like it)
    a tablespoon of lemon juice
a tablespoon of oil for texture purposes
tahini if you can find it but you don't need it.

Chuck it all in the blender, and blend it. add some water if it isn't thick enough, add some roasted red peppers if you feel like changing it up.
