When should I start using weights

i have 100 pounds to lose. (Have lost 27 already) I have worked my way up to 3.5 miles of walking. I walk about 3-4 times per week. When should I add strength training/weights into my routine?

You can do both, and I'd recommend doing about 45 minutes of cardio before each strength training session.

Yes, now. I had 150 to lose, started strength training & walking day 1. Results are nothing short of astounding, in my view. Latest progress pic is in Success forum but I can't link on my phone. I'm now 15 from goal. Don't wait any longer. Congrats on your progress so far!

Depends on the answer to the following question. Do you have a time machine?

If not, then today is a good day to start

I agree with what everyone else has said. While losing weight, you unfortunately will lose some lean body mass as well. In addition to a bunch of other benefits, weightlifting will help you retain more lean body mass, so you can focus on not just weight loss, but fat loss.

The more lean muscle you have, the more efficiently you burn fat.

The sooner the better. I once had 100lbs to lose. I've only lost roughly 40lbs of it, but I'm currently 1 size above my goal size. The last time I wore this size, I weighed 40lbs less. I'm currently between 187-190 wearing a size 10/12. The last time I wore a 10/12 I weighed like 140-145.
