Retaining water

Hi all! I started working out 2 weeks ago, I started with elliptical and now I am doing cardio and other low impact workouts and a little of low impact leg workouts (all of this from home) and I noticed I am retaining water in my tights. Is this normal? Do I need a rest day even if I am doing low impact exercises? I am not doing weights and its the first time in my life that I work out. I do between 30-45 min a daily and I have not really take a day off since I started.

Just keeping going!! It's water weight from the exercise. As long as you eating less than you are burning you will lose weight.

I agree to keep going. I will retain water on the days I work out different muscles or work out harder than usual. I only do treadmill work outs but when I work in my yard I work out different muscles and I notice I retain water on those days. Eventually you will show losses as long as you are eating appropriately.

Also it sounds a bit strange but I was told to increase my water intake. I did and it helped.

Thanks a lot everybody! I started with Pilates and strength and I feel great! Still retaining a little water in my legs but I am starting to feel the difference in my body. I was very lazy all my life but I decided to do this and I love it. I am not lazy anymore and watching what I eat and I have a lot of energy.
