I strongly suggest you start here. There are a ton of links to great information. Read a lot. It took me a while to figure everything out. Personally, I prefer to navigate the website, but the app is nice for on the go! Best of luck!

It's pretty easy. In the food diary, log everything you eat, down to the "lightly grease pan and dust with flour" on the banana bread recipe. If you eat a slice of packaged cheese, enter it. Make sure that the nutritional values of the thing you're about to enter match the nutritional label on the package of the thing you eat. To be accurate, you'll need a food scale. Weigh all your food. As I said, it's easy. Don't lie to your food diary. Put everything you eat in it and do that accurately. After you've seen how your food stacks up to your macros, you can start thinking of ways to adjust your diet to better meet your macros. Your macros are given to you by myfitnesspal when you tell myfitnesspal what your weight loss goal is. If you meet your calories and don't exceed them, you will lose the weight that you want to lose as fast as you want to lose it.
