Fitbit Calorie adjustment?

I'm confused. I burned about 900 calories in this morning's workout, and MFP gave me about 700 back. However, this amount keeps dropping each time I sync. I know it's recalculated throughout day, but this has not happened in the 6 months I've been using it. Also, yesterday I walked over 6 miles earning 1000 calories , and mfp calories adjusted accordingly, but they disappeared at the end if the day. The info is all correct on fitbit, but not mfp. Frustrating as can't track properly

I'm having some trouble with my Fitbit calories disappearing too, but only on the app. When I look at MFP online, they are still there. Maybe it's a glitch?

Really fed up with it , as stopping me from tracking properly. Not done this in the 6 months I've been using Fitbit. It gives me extra calories, I eat them, then it takes them away again

I think this is normal , mfp takes a projected calorie burn for the whole day from fitbit but if you exercise early in the morning and then pretty much stop moving again this burn will start out way over exaggerated and then go down during they day. What does it say when you look at the exercise tab, are your steps still there? Also 1000 calories for 6 miles seems way too much are you sure you were not looking at the total calories from fitbit (so including your BMR)?

    This.
I could get 200 calories from my lunchtime walk- But if I dont really move much any more by the end of the day my projected total burn goes down - my 200 were still "earned" but my OVERALL calorie burn has become less. That might be whats happening? What kind of fitbit do you have?

Also Agree that 1000 for 6 mi is a lot. How are you reading this/where are you reading this output?

I gave up and disconnected the apps. I found it more accurate to eyeball the calories in fitbit and add some activity when clearly waranted. For example, I went hiking yesterday and fitbit recorded 80 active minutes. I would add 80 minutes of walking in mfp.

This gives more flexibility. Some days I swim, lift weights, cycle, or use a machine (which estimates energy burn). Fitbit is only good for walking or running. It is also prone to overestimating calories. Walking around the house is not the same as hiking!

1000 seems a bit high for a 6 mile walk...I did a 3.5 mile walk yesterday and got 362 even doubled that isn't even close to 1k...

I would call fitbit...I would say there is an issue.

Isn't the general rule 100 cals per mile? My Fitbit says I've burned almost 500 cals for 5.17 miles and that seems reasonable.

Yup so 1000 for a 6 mile walk seems a bit overstated to say the least.

I don't think any of the calorie adjustments are working. My polar loop seems to be recording weird on here for some reason now too. Very strange.
