Boss stealing my food!

So I measure my food out that I bring into work, this way I know how many calories I am eating. Well I like to munch on carrots because I can pretend their Cheetos lol. My boss one day said oh hey can I have a couple of those. I was like umm... sure. Now it's an almost every day occurance, then I found out he is bringing them home and giving them to his dogs because they love carrots! Well I give my dogs carrots too so I get that dogs love carrots, but buy your own damn carrots for your dogs! I bring a certain amount because that is what I am allowing myself a day. Am I wrong to be a little ticked by this? I'm generally not a rude person but I can't afford to give his dogs "treats" every day!

no you are 100% right to be mad let him get his own carrots for his dogs0
-
That is beyond rude. Does your boss lack generally accepted social skills in other areas too?0
-
The next time he asks say no sorry really hungry today lol0

He's pretty rude when he talks to people there are only 2 of us directly under him and neither of us are real crazy about him as a boss...0 -
Isn't that office faux pas #1? Stealing other people's food?0
-
omg, lol
i seriously laughed so hard.
your boss is ridiculous, but so funny.0 -
WHO DOES THAT!!!?!??!0

Turn the situation around on your boss. Tell him if he gives you a raise you can afford to give him more carrots for his dogs.

I totally should since I can barely afford to feed myself right now! Lol. I mean I really didn't care the first time, and I thought he was gonna eat them, but his dogs, really!?0 -
That's ridiculous! He has no socials skills or manners to say the least. Maybe you should just keep your carrots at your desk. They will be fine out of the fridge for a while.0

i absolutely hate sharing food for the same reason. At a family dinner, i brought my own food (3 chicken sausages and broccoli) and I cooked it there. We're sitting at the table and my cousin literally says, "hey can i have one of your sausages?" and before i could even grudgingly say yes (because i felt obligated/uncomfortable saying no), she grabs it off my plate and starts cutting it, and said how good it was. Seriously, I wanted to jump across the table at her haha In the end I just have to tell myself, "well, now I can get those calories from somewhere else."
I also hate when people want to taste my food. THAT BITE WAS CALCULATED.0 -
Wow. I don't even know what to say to this one. If you say something about it, will it cause trouble for you with your boss?? It may not be worth the fight.0

That's crazy. :noway:0

The funny yet difficult situations we can find ourselves in...if you feel comfortable with your boss by all means say politely "I have only brought in enough for myself because I am on a specialized diet and everything is measured for me (hopefully he will get it!)". If not keep them in your draw or pocket book where you can reach them without notice and eventual he will stop coming over for them. Other than that I think you've found yourself in a pickle over, who'd have thought, carrots.:sad:0
-
that is just bizarre. :huh:0
-
Easier said than done, but next time he asks...just tell him while you don't mind sharing occasionally; you're on a strict diet and bring what food you need to work. Carrots are inexpensive and being that he's your boss I'm sure he can afford to buy his own. I wouldn't add that last sentence for the sake of you job. What a *kitten*.0

Oh I don't put any of my food in the fridge here at work all the ladies are like vultures with food lol. So I keep them at my desk but his desk is right across from mine0 -

don't hurt the dogs because the boss is a jack@$$.0 -

I have 3 dogs of my own so I wouldn't do this, though if my boss was eating them... lol0 -
i would tell him I like to have left overs to take home to my dogs lol0
-
I would simply tell my boss that I cannot keep feeding his dogs, especially when I only bring enough food for myself. Say it with a smile
If he asks if you have any carrots, just take a bite, slowly shake your head side to side and casually say, "No..." *crunch*
LoL~ Don't be afraid of a little sass, sounds like he could use it. :glasses:0 -
you are totally within your rights to be miffed. with the price of produce nowadays, it's not your JOB to feed his and/or his dogs' carrot addiction! not sure what the "polite" way is to address this. but the bottom line needs to be him providing his own snacks, for himself AND his dogs!
a coworker who DAILY asks for your snacks, pencils, white out, whatever is a MOOCH.0 -

I like this, but I'm afraid I could not keep a straight face, then I'd end up spitting pieces of carrot all over him... lol0 -
That would piss me off! Not that my current boss would do that - my current boss is AWESOME!
But if I was in your situation I would buy a HUGE bag of carrots and then confront him about it, but in a nice "Miss Manners" way. Tell him that carrots are inexpensive but you'd appreciate it if he'd purchase his own dog treats, blah, blah, blah (with a smile)....or give him glass jar with all the ingredients inside with the baking directions so he can make his own dog treats at home.
I've always been told me to kill people with kindness unfortunately I never follow my own advice, I would probably tell him to "piss off, get your own food, buddy!" and would subsequently be sent down to HR. LMAO!!!
My dogs love carrots, celery, yams, etc...but they're spoiled little sh*ts too.

This is crazy! He's not even eating the carrots, he just takes them to his dogs??? Pure insanity.
Maybe stop bringing carrots for a couple days and he'll get the hint. Or I would flat out tell him to buy his dogs their own darn carrots. They are cheap, cheaper than dog treats! He's a turd.0 -
Wow, what a jerk, I would just try to be polite about it. Tell him sorry, but it's your lunch/snack.0
-
I would be annoyed, he is taking food to feed his dogs, not himself?
Thats downright rude
Make it into a puree with brussel sprouts, and the stench which will come out, he will stay away from your carrots for a while.
(Used to have a dog who loved those, but we hated the aftermath)0 -
Dogs like carrots? I didn't know that. LOL.
I would be really irritated by that if I were you! Are you personal friends with your boss and perhaps he's just taking for granted that you don't mind, or is he completely overstepping his boundaries?0
