What kind of protein bars? Certain kinds of fiber (ie: chicory root) can cause digestive troubles in some people. Check the ingredients on yours to see what they're using for fiber, and maybe cut out the protein bars for a week or two and see if things change.

    Also, how much fiber overall?

Open your diary. Some people here could spot mistakes you are making.
My diary is open. Makes it easy to get help.

    Are you taking metamucil?
I took Equate sugar free stuff and had to lay down the gas was so bad.
    Don't mess with supplements.
Eat chia seeds for fiber instead.

The protein bars would be my first guess as to the culprit. Especially if they are quest bars.

Take over-the-counter generic brand simethecone for gas. Easy.

Eliminate insoluble fibers, using soluble fibers instead. :)

My sister and I both get terrible gas from Oatmeal. We can eat it for breakfast and by 1 or 2pm the gas starts and continues for hours.

Some veggies are gas givers too. Broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower for sure.
Benefiber is a great supplement for fiber.

Haha, in my case it would be the cat.

Diary is open, but only temporary, take a look at it.

Hard to tell because you're not tracking fiber.

I saw your details. I saw that some days you hit 40 grams of fiber a day.
That's the number I have problems too.
Where I have to lay down for a few minutes.
I've even been eating high fiber for 6 months, and still have this problem.
I even drink a heap of a lot of water.
    I'm in my 50's.
At first I thought it was careegenan in your almond milk (that upset me), but your brand does not contain that. I love that store.
I read somewhere that a woman needs 25 of fiber a day.
And that even in older age it goes down to 21 for minimum.
So maybe you can "un-fiber" a bit.
