Hello I am new ,starting today, :) and really need to stick with tracking this time. I have tried other trackers but I think this is the easiest to use...so far.

Welcome! Fellow homeschooling mom here and about in the same place as you are. My best advice, especially with being home for all the meals with kids, is to plan and pre-log your meals. I find I do much better if I log at breakfast what I'm going to eat for lunch. Then I'm not tempted and I don't pick at what I'm making for the kids.

Welcome !!!! Glad you found us.
I agree, planning means a ton and not 'finishing the kids stuff' oh its so hard to stick to that one! I realized how much I did this when I was diagnosed with Celiac and had to avoid many of their things.... how many times I reached for it!!!

We're happy to help "teach" you!!!!

I'm not even a homeschooling mom, but the tip of logging in your meal at the previous meal is genius! Am so going to do this now as I am always adding snacky bits as I go along! Thank you for sharing!

Give yourself a week or two of just logging everything single thing you put in your mouth to get a feel for what your eating habits are really like. If you stay within the calorie guidelines that is great, but if you don't, do not stress over it. I found it took me a few weeks to really see what my habits were like for me to be able to see what I needed to change.

Homeschooling mom here too! Do you have a food scale? Its a very important part of being successful using MFP. If you are going to count calories then a food scale is a must. Good luck! You can do it!
